*Disclaimer: I own all the pictures. This product was not paid for by me and it was given to me by MyGlamm. Everything written over here is my opinion.*
It’s been quite some time since my last post and I did mention in my previous post that I won’t be posting as often anymore because I just don’t have a lot of products on me to review but I have purchased a couple of new things which I will be reviewing soon once I have tried them all out. As you read in the disclaimer, for once, I didn’t actually pay for a product that I am reviewing. This brush was sent to me by MyGlamm themselves because they wanted to apologize for the blender blush, from the POPXO box, that is from their brand. The blender brush(Click here to see the full review) tore and came off the stick and well, it was a bit predictable considering how flimsy it was in the beginning when I unboxed it, nevertheless, MyGlamm sent me this new brush, which I got to choose from an assortment of their brushes, as a gesture of goodwill and I told them that I would make sure to review and well, here I am! While this post is not sponsored, it was quite refreshing to not have to pay for one of these products, that I review, for once.
What is MyGlamm?
MyGlamm is a hyper-local marketplace that provides on-demand hair, beauty, nail and spa products that can be found on their website and pop up stores. They provide a large variety of makeup products that range from Foundations, Concealers, Palettes, Lipsticks, etc. The theme that I often notice in MyGlamm products is Gold and White or Gold and Black. MyGlamm also provides doorstep services where customers can avail assistance from professional beauticians and stylists. MyGlamm is backed by one of Europe’s largest natural beauty companies, which also collaborated with global experts and makeup artists to bring about exciting innovations in makeup to accomplish their single, focused goal, that is to make looking glamorous effortless!
The beauty blender by MyGlamm is what attracted me the most to the POPXO Beauty Box because I have always wanted to try out MyGlamm products but always ended up putting it off for later. Sadly, that endeavor wasn’t very fruitful per se but it did end up with me writing this review! I usually don’t buy a single brush at a time because I personally think that it’s a waste of money and I would rather spend more on makeup instead but I couldn’t let this opportunity slide by. Blushes aren’t quite part of my daily make up routine but I do like to indulge myself with some of it every now and then, and while I don’t own a lot of brush palettes, my favorite is hands down the blush palette by Dior.
The Beauty Blender
Here’s a picture of the beauty blender I received in the POPXO Beauty Box which tore after one wash with no real effort put into it. I just wanted to show this product to you because you can try and compare it with the Chisel It Blush Brush I received in compensation from MyGlamm.
The Chisel It Blush Brush
The brush is a rounded brush that is best suitable for powder based makeup products. Once again, MyGlamm’s theme of White and Gold is apparent on the rim and the body of the brush. Also, the ‘M’ emblem on the brush is a popup gold that sparkles on close inspection or when near light. The brush retails for Rs 1295 on their website. It’s rightly said that this brush is meant for powder based beauty products because it really soaks in any kind of moisture which I noticed after rinsing it. It really works well with blushes and I am sure it would more or less result in the same with highlighters as well. The brush was a little dented in a few spots, so, it wasn’t exactly the newest brush in the inventory but that’s alright, it’s not the worst thing that could have happened. The brush is sturdy with no fallout and as I mentioned earlier, the application is really easy and smooth. Also, I highly suggest that you don’t use any soapy substance to clean this brush because I have probably washed this brush 5 times by now and the foam still appears when I press the brush. Just use plain water and you should be good.
Defects: A few marks and dents.
This is a very pretty brush and it looks very classy, so, it’s easily a very glamorous addition to your vanity bag. It’s not compact and hence, not very travel-friendly but I don’t think that reasons enough for anyone to deter from using this brush. I actually don’t like small brushes that are provided along with compacts and palettes, so, I’m pretty happy with this product. Besides, I quite like the white and gold theme because it’s really chic and stylish, a theme like this always goes well with beauty products and generally, classy packaging’s like these always manage to entice folks like me, who always end up buying products for their packaging and for once, this isn’t a bad product to try out and word on the street is that MyGlamm has some really impressive products. Honestly, this has really encouraged me to try out some of the other products that are available on their site!
I know I keep writing that there are boxes on their way and trust me, they really are but there seems to be a bit of delay and while it does seem cruel, such is life.
