Araina by Arshneet: Summer Box 2019

*Disclaimer: All the pictures used in this post belong to me. This post is not sponsored. Everything written over here is just my opinion.

Hey, folks!

Summer, bummer, it’s all the same to me. There’s no denying it, I’m a Winter baby. While I can’t change the weather, there are several other things I can do to make life more bearable during this blistering heat. One of them being self-care. Now, I’m all about the skincare life but, the skin on your face is not the only thing you need to be worrying about. It’s very important to take care of your hands and feet, especially your nails and the cuticles. I’ve never really invested in any such product before, so, when I saw the summer box, I thought, why the hell not? And, here we are. Do bear in mind that I received this box a week or so ago, and I took some time to use all of the products and observe the results.

What is Araina By Arshneet?

Arshneet Kaur is a sole creator behind the brand, Araina By Arshneet. She’s a young junior college student and is quite the entrepreneur. From creating various creative nail art designs to making potions, scrubs and nail oils for hand and feet care, she has singlehandedly managed to do it all. Araina By Arshneet focuses on creating products that are vegan and cruelty-free. Currently, she has a store at Shop101.com, but, if I’m correct, she’s working on getting her own domain soon, and is also accepting orders via dms on Instagram. Do check her story highlights to view the catalog for her products with their respective prices, and she also recently posted about a change in delivery schedule and orders, so, make sure to check the story highlights on Instagram.

The total cost of this box is ₹1,850. It was sold for ₹965. I opted for CoD (Cash on Delivery), and paid ₹1,050.

Word On The Street?

As far as I can tell, people seem to really appreciate the quality of the products and the results they bring with them. There haven’t been any negative criticism or complaints that I’m aware of.

Personally?

I came across Araina By Arshneet back in April, and while I don’t really remember what led me to her, I found her (@Arainabyarshneet) on Instagram first. It wasn’t until much later, that I found out that the entrepreneur is actually quite young. So, in the beginning, I was actually going to buy the individual products available from her store but, when the opportunity to purchase a summer box came around, I just had to get one for myself. I mean, c’ mon, how could I ever say no to a box? There was a bit of a delay, but it was handled well by Arshneet and, she always kept us in the loop. It was very kind of her when she offered to refund orders or the missing products, due to the delay from the wholesaler she gets her containers from. It’s always important to stay in touch with your customers during such times when you’ve missed your promised deadlines and I really appreciate the way she informed us about every move. Once I received the box, I did reach out to her to ask her how to use some of her products and their benefits, she was kind enough to explain it to me and I can’t wait to share my experience with these products with you.

So far, here are the scores:

Let’s do this!

The Cuticle Balm

This product comes in a lip balm tube and has a fruity scent to it. The balm helps to soften the cuticles and provide a moisturizing effect. It can also be used as a lip balm to moisturize your lips.

I wasn’t quite sure about what to expect from this product, but after using it for a couple of days, I noticed that my cuticles were looking healthier and moisturized. Before this, I never really bought any products for hand care, nor have I used any hand creams consistently, so this was a great change that both my hands and I really appreciate. Now I haven’t used it as a chapstick, but I think it would work fairly well. There are no instructions provided on how to apply the product, not that you would really need one anyway. Just apply some on your cuticles, and then, nicely massage it in. I have dealt with dry and peeling nails and cuticles before, so this has been really handy. While a little product will last you a long way, make sure to store this in a cool place, away from heat.

The La Roy- Holo Me Good Nail Paint

This product comes in a regular nail paint container. The holographic pigment is high and transfers well. It does not take very long to dry but, do be wary, it tends to come off when accidentally scratched.

*Note: My hands were a little shakey, so the nail paint hasn’t been applied in the most professional way.*

Funny story, but I grew out my nails specifically for this review because I wanted to try this nail paint out. I was given the choice to choose from 5-6 different shades of holograhphic nail paints, and I kinda wish I could have gotten them all ’cause this nail paint really did holo me good. The very same day, after clicking the pictures, my nails broke, so I couldn’t enjoy long holo nails for a very long time. Regardless of that, this is hands down the best nail paint I have ever used. In fact, I might get a couple more of these, if possible. Instagram worthy nails, here I come!

The Pomegranate and Passion Fruit Foot Soak

This product comes in a wide but small container. It helps relax and rejuvenate your feet and is best used when the water is warm. The fragrance of the fruits is an added benefit to the soothing aspects of this product.

I don’t often use bath salts, but whenever I have any with me, I usually run a nice tub full of hot water with a bath salt or foot soak for mom, she’s a runner and her feet often swell up and hurt her after spending all day on her feet. The day I received this box, was one such day. Starting with the smell, it’s quite pleasant and not the intoxicating kind. You don’t need to use a lot of it, but I wish there was more quantity in the container. I do like the ingredients used here, as you may know, Pomegranates have anti-aging properties, and they help firm your skin, and the Passion Fruit has been known to assist in weight loss,  decreasing stress and anxiety, and it’s rich in Vitamin C. This is probably one of my favourite products in this box.

The Kaolin Clay Coffee Shea Butter Soap

This product comes in three pieces, shaped as starfishes/stars. It moisturizes your hands and nourishes your skin for fighting dry and peeling skin. The small hardened bits also exfoliate your skin and have a brightening effect. It does not have any kind of scent.

Before this box, I had no idea what kaolin clay was. After some research, I learned about some of its key benefits in a bar of soap, such as, it helps retain the moisture on your skin, and it also withdraws any kind of toxin and impurities from the skin. Especially for folks with oily skin like me, this is quite the match for you because it extracts the excess oil from your skin and it’s mild enough to not dry your skin out. I had stopped using bars of soap a couple of years ago, so, it’s quite a pleasant change. This soap is mild and nicely scrubs your skin, gently exfoliating it and getting rid of impurities. You can choose this over your regular soaps as well. I really liked the cute shape they come in, but I wish there were more pieces.

The Nail Oil

This product comes in a brush pen tube with re-useable packaging. By twisting the bottom, you can push the product through and apply it via the brush tip. It can be re-filled once again. Regular use of this oil will help in improving the quality of your nails and take care of issues like brittle nails, ridges on the surface and peeling.

The nail oil has been a recurring product in most of the reviews and Instagram stories. Everyone seems to have taken nicely to the pen, and it’s also one of her most popular products. I remember seeing various people recommending the oil pen for issues like peeling nails, brittle ridges, and discoloration. While I’m not sure about what the ingredients are, this product has really helped me hydrate and improve the surface of my nails. I have an Iron deficiency problem, so this kinda really helped me take care of it. As you read earlier for the Holo Me Good nail paint review, my nails broke immediately due to how weak they are and it’s hard for me to maintain long nails for a long period of time. It’s also why I was able to use only one hand for all the pictures because most of my nails on the right hand were broken and chipped. Out of the entire lot, I highly recommend this.

The Orange Peel & Sugar Hand and Foot Scrub

This product comes in a wide but small container. By applying this product, you can easily exfoliate and moisturize your hands and feet. A little product will last you a long way. When washed with water, the scrub will have soap like foam.

I used this product the very same day I received it, followed by the soak. It’s super effective, and I really like how supple and smooth it makes my skin feel. The scrub isn’t harsh at all, and it moisturizes your skin gently. My mother has also tried this a couple of times and she approves of this! I would say that you should let it sit for about 5-10 mins before washing it off, the orange peel is great for tan removal. It’s easily my biggest summer must have in this box! Again, much like the soak, I just wish there was more of it, though a little goes a long way.

My Verdict?

This was my first hand and feet care box and I’m quite impressed by it. I was a little worried about it at first, but that’s all gone now. Everything from the cost of the box to the items in it was nothing short of impressive, and to think that only one person is the sole creator of it all. For once, I actually have more than just one favourite item in the entire box. The Holo Me Good nail paint and the nail oil pen were two of my favourite products, and I really enjoyed the new routine of taking care of my hands and feet. So, after all of that, so do I recommend this box? Heck yeah! It’s reasonably priced and you receive more than you expect. The quality is wonderful and the quantity could use a little increase, but that’s just a suggestion. I’m certain that if there’s another box, I will be the first to stand in that queue. All the props to Arshneet for achieving so much and at quite a young age too. Be sure to check out her Instagram and have a gander at the catalog to pick your summer essentials!

I love this post! Lately I’ve been trying new, and old, and ALL products for my nails. I really want to try the foot soak, and cuticle oil! Thanks for the info. Also, after reading your post and then scrolling down to see a shot of your hand holding a product, I honestly can’t believe you don’t buy and use a ton of products on your nails! THEY LOOK GREAT! Must be genetic, because my nails won’t grow 1/4 that long, even when I try really hard to take extra good care of them. I’m struggling right now to get my thumb nails to actually quit breaking and grow past … grow past anything. I’ve seriously had to wear bandages on my thumbs they break so much 😦 my search is still on!

    1. Haha aww thank you! I really don’t use any sort of hand creams and my nail’s have always been naturally long. Some articles say that with the right diet, you just might be able to stimulate growth for better nails! 🙂
